Today's topic: Obtaining power for salvation.

Text: john 1:12

Reading: As many as receive him,  to them he gave  power to become  the children of God, even to them that believe in his name.

Becoming a child of God is not by mere words. It is by actually receiving power from God to live a transformed life. 

It means operating from a kind of level that you are no longer directed by fleshly desires but you are being directed by the holy spirit.

Being a child  of God means surrendering your will the will of the holy spirit. You cannot be saved without having a day of encounter. A day which you recognize that the power of the holy spirit moved and changed you.

And since then, your life changed. You can obtain power of salvation from christ , if you desire and surrender your life to him. The power to operate on earth as a believer will be given to you by God. If you accept his invitation.

When you parade yourself  as a believer, without first of all, receiving jesus christ in your life, you become a powerless Christian. So to avoid that , surrender your life to Christ in truth and spirit.

1. Father thank you for this evening.

2. Today, I pray that you give me the power to become your child, in spirit and truth. Amen.
